Dogs bark. It’s in their genetic make-up. Sometimes, though, dogs bark too much or at inappropriate times. Demand barking, for example, is when a dog wants to get attention, a treat, or something else that he’s been given before when he tried barking to get his way. Dogs learn fast when things work for them, and demand barking is a prime example of dogs doing what works.
Watch dog barking is another type of dog barking that we love, but want it to stop after the initial alarm. Watch dog barking that goes on and on is quite annoying to most of us and our neighbors. There are other types of dog barking that communicates a dog needs help, is uncomfortable, or in a state of panic that can be aided with training and management.
Whatever the case, dogs who bark excessively are in need of some help to change the behavior. Contact me if you would like to set up a session for your barking dog.
