Do you have a pet dog that’s waiting to bloom into an Awesome Pet Dog? Join us in this class to partner with your dog to train the behaviors of sit, down, stand, stay, go to mat, come when called, and leash walking management. Students must bring motivating training treats to class each week.
MOONLIGHT AGILITY Six weekly 50-minute classes $150*

Under the moon and lights of Waterford’s enclosed hockey rink, pet dog agility will bring out the joy in you and your dog.. Participants will teach their dogs to run tunnels, the pause box, weave poles, hoops, shoots, and ladders, as time permits. The class will set up whatever challenges the participants are ready for. Dogs will learn to perform on the equipment as well as the important behaviors of come when called and stay. Dogs must be friendly to both people and other dogs, and participants must help the teacher carry equipment from her truck before class and back to her truck after class. The class participants will leave together. It’s preferable to bring a crate or ex-pen for your dog, but motivating training treats and toys are necessary.

Teaching dogs to control themselves is a big ticket item in dog training. From not jumping on people to not pulling on leash to not jumping over you to get out of the car or running out the front door. That’s a lot of nots! And there’s even more nots than that! If you’d like your dog to “hold his horses” and learn to control his impulses, this is the class for you. Students must bring motivating training treats to class each week.
TRICKS AND TREATS Six weekly 50-minute classes $150*

Training tricks is an excellent way to discover and show off your dog’s talents while exercising his mind and body and your funny bone. The tricks taught will depend on class participants, but may include bow, spin, crawl, roll over, ring bell, say prayers, and jump. We can customize tricks for dogs with disabilities. Bring your old dog and teach him new tricks! Students must bring motivating training treats to class each week.
HOWLIDAY HAPPY HOUR Six weekly 50-minute classes $150*

Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas: In this innovative class, participants will be exposed to a variety of holiday ideas, training, and even crafts that center around our beloved dogs. We’ll learn how to prompt our dogs to participate in festive DIY holiday photos, and teach them to wear hats, tutu collars, or more elaborate costumes.. We’ll play games to entertain our dogs just for fun, to occupy them for those times folks stop by to visit, or to keep them entertained during their alone time. We’ll share recipes for holiday dog cookies, and make inexpensive holiday-themed dog toys as well as learn what to look for when buying toys for our dogs. We’ll also teach our dogs a trick or two to show off to friends and family. Join the fun! Students must bring motivating training treats to class each week.

HOLIDAY STRESS BUSTING GAMES Four weekly 50-minute classes $100*

Let off some steam in this 4-week class of games and fun. Games can change a bored or destructive dog’s life and give us some much needed laughter and stress release, especially during the holidays. In this class, you’ll laugh with your dog as you learn ways to employ his/her natural instincts through game playing. What you’ll learn can be employed and enjoyed for the lifetime of your dog. Students must bring motivating training treats to class each week.
*An additional $10 will be added to the class fee for those students who are not residents of the Town of Davie.
NOTES FOR ALL CLASSES: All classes taught by Helen Verte Schwarzmann, CTC, CPDT-KA, CTDI. Please email LoveWagsATail@gmail.com or call 954-684-5288 to register prior to the first class. Pre-registration is required. Dogs must be at least 4 months old and current on DHPP (Distemper and Parvo) and Rabies vaccines. Vaccination records must be brought to the first class. Dogs must have been in owner’s home for at least seven days and must be friendly towards dogs and people. The Trainer, at her discretion, may remove a dog from class if a hazard or threat of any nature to any other animal or person. The trainer may take photos and/or videos during classes for marketing purposes. Enrollment is limited to six students per class. Dogs should wear buckle, martingale, or quick release collars only. No prong or choke collars, please. Training is through positive reinforcement.
