Happy Halloween from Love Wags A Tail, dog training and behavior modification in Broward county and Fort Lauderdale!
I ran across this video yesterday, a superbly put together arrangement of trick dog training. This is the sort of fun you can have training dogs to do tricks. Training dogs is a process, remember, so it doesn’t happen over night, but also, so is life, so let’s not rush it. That stays true to training dogs, too, in Florida or any part of the country. Patience is inherent in the process. So is having fun!

Every year, from September 13 to Halloween, I post pictures of Halloween Dogs on another website of mine. People on Facebook, friends, and training students send me photos to use. It’s a lot of fun, and today punctuates the fifth year of that tradition. I invite you to take a look at the website for some Halloween Dogs festivity, and view this year’s slide show below.
Have a splendid Halloween, and remember to keep you pets safe. If your cat is an indoor/outdoor cat, or outdoor-only, bring her inside today and especially before dark. Put her in a room and shut the door so no darting outside. If your dog gets too excited about the doorbell ringing or other parts of the Halloween ritual, set him up in his own safe room, with the door shut. This is actually a good reason for crate training dogs and cats. During holidays such as Halloween or fireworks season, they have a cozy den to rely on for comfort. Meanwhile, a room with the door closed should do the trick, and remember their treats!
Enjoy the holiday!
