If you’d like a little November Thanksgiving fun for your dog, there is a food toy on the market that’s shaped like a turkey. Food toys for dogs and puppies give them a way to spend their mental energies and is much like a pacifier for dogs. Food toys for dogs keep them busy for a while.
Some dogs and puppies need training to learn to use their food toys. Make sure the food pieces you put inside are small enough to get back out again. Watch the video for ideas. We want our dogs to be successful at their work, and not frustrated. If it’s the first time for your pooch, then sit with him and help him learn how to use it. Roll it around so he will be intrigued ant curious enough to work on it himself.

As much as their rubber food toys are sturdy enough, stay away from the hot dog chew toy they offer and perhaps all the nylon toys touted for chewing, especially if you have an aggressive chewer. You can see what happened to the hot dog chew toy I purchased. My dog took less than five minutes to break the toy apart, and this is why we need to watch when we give our dogs toys. I immediately took it away and tossed it in the trash.
I will stick to Nylabones for chewing exercise.
